Prize Day

We believe it is important to recognise and celebrate success. Over the course of the year, many pupils here at Lynch Hill make superb progress, not just academically but personally as well. Prize day is a time when we acknowledge these achievements and is held annually at the end of each year.

Children who have attended school every day for the year, and those who have received 3 Gold Awards (Behavioural Awards) are presented with special medals and certificates. Many other awards are given to pupils who are at the end of a Key stage (be it Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2). Awards recognise individual progress in subjects, attitudes and personal development. In addition to these awards the most coveted prize of “Headteacher’s Award” is given. This formal event is attended by families of children in the Transition Year Groups and many dignitaries from our wider community, such as Support workers, business partners, Local authority and educational workers as well as the Mayor. A professional photographer takes the main photographs and these are displayed in the hall.
