Sometimes pupil problems are best solved and understood by other pupils and we understand some children find it easier to share their feelings with other pupils. As such, we have a “Buddy system” (or peer-mentoring system).

Year 6 pupils who wish to become Buddies, receive extra training so they know how to support younger pupils who find some aspects of school challenging. They then meet with these pupils regularly to discuss progress.

In the past Buddies have become very good friends of their younger peer mentees and helped support their children to overcome their worries, such as friendship concerns and playground worries.

Our year 6 pupils, are currently preparing their letters of application.
